What is the request educational platform service ?

It is a service enables beneficiaries enable beneficiaries to develop a platform through FutureX according to the NeLC’s mandatory standards to achieve the national vision towards digital transformation and provide trusted online learning for all.

What are the benefits of developing a platform through FutureX?
FutureX is an enabler to explore new opportunities and choices to develop microsites with:

• Easy access.
• Flexibility of content development and management by eLearning providers.
• Qualify the institution to obtain a license to provide eLearning programs.
• Ensure the quality of eLearning according to the international standards.

What are the eligible institutions to request a platform?

Any official educational or training governmental, private, or third sector institution wishes to provide eLearning.

Can institutions outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia request a platform?
Currently, platform requests are limited to institutions within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

How can I submit a platform request?
You can request a platform through your account on FutureX.

How to track the request status?
Through your account on FutureX.

How long does it take to develop the platform? 
It takes a maximum of 2 working days from the date of submitting the request.
   

Can I offer eLearning programs once I obtain the platform?  
After obtaining the platform, the institution must apply for institution license and program license from the National eLearning Center.

How much does it cost to develop a platform and what is the payment method?  
The amount of developing a platform is determined after receiving the request and sending more than one quotation to design and build it by vendors, and the choice is left to the beneficiary in determining what suits their needs.
   

Is training and support provided after the delivery of the platform?
 Yes, training and technical support is offered by the vendors.

How to contact the platform vendors?
The platform vendor will make all the contact details available once it is selected to provide the service to the beneficiary.

What is the expected duration for closing local and global subscription requests?
Local and global subscription requests are closed within 1 working day if the authorization or license subscription fee is received.

What are the global platforms through which local and global subscriptions are made?
Subscriptions are made through:

• edX
• Coursera

How long does the learner’s license last and when does the activation start?
1 year from the service completion, and it is activated instantly after fulfilling the service request.

Can any individual obtain the license directly?
No, individuals cannot obtain the license directly, as licenses only can be obtained through their employers by completing the procedures of licenses issuance and managing pathways and courses.

Is it possible to revoke the learner’s license after completing the course and reassign it to another learner?
Yes, institutions can manage their own licenses, revoke and reassign them.

What is the flexible learning pathway?
Courses offered by international universities and the largest tech companies through FutureX in partnership with global and local platforms, in order to achieve specific learning or training outcomes and develop specific skills.

What are the approved platforms to build flexible learning pathways?

What is the expected duration for closing building flexible learning pathways requests?
Building a flexible learning pathway is completed once the institution subscribes and pays
the fees for the licenses. The licenses are activated within 1 working day. 

 

Is assigning a license to a learner done in a specific period?
Yes, 1 year from the date of license activation. 

 

Is the license validity relevant to the learner’s progress?
The license validity is not relevant to the learner’s progress. However, the institution has the right to reassign the license to another learner if it is not activated during a certain period. 

 

Can the institution revoke or suspend the license and reassign it to another learner?
If the license is not activated or used, the institution can reassign it to another learner. 

 

Can we assign more than one license for the learner?
Yes, if the institution subscribes to more than one hosting platform, the learner will have a license on Coursera, and another on edX.

 

What is the difference between assigning a license and assigning a pathway?
Assigning a learner license is the first step, then the pathway will be assigned. Unlimited pathways built by the institution can be assigned to the learner.

Any institution wishes to develop content or shift its traditional content into developed one based on the National eLearning Center’s guideline.

• Aligning the request with the content authoring standards. 
• Sending the content to the developer.
• Aligning the DNA provided by the developer with the content development standards.
• Approve the DNA. 
• Send the DNA to request new content.

What is the followed procedure in the event of the violation of one of the terms of the contract? 

Depends on the importance of the term, as it may be excluded or issue a violation. 

 

What is required for content development?

 Providing a content that is aligned with the content authoring standards. 

 

Does the content expert provided by the NeLC or the applicant institution? 

Depends on the terms of the agreement. 

 

What is the duration of each phase?

It Depends on the procedures of each phase.
